Examinations & Consultations
General Surgery Consultation
A General Surgery Consultation is an assessment by a surgeon, usually arranged when a check-up finding needs a closer, expert review. It involves a discussion of your history and symptoms together with an examination of the relevant area.
The purpose is to evaluate a finding and advise on whether any further investigation or treatment is appropriate. Importantly, a consultation does not mean surgery is needed, as in many cases it offers reassurance and a clear explanation of the next steps.
This explanation is for general information and is not medical advice. Your results are always interpreted by a doctor.
