Fibroid (Myoma) Check

A Fibroid, or myoma, check is an ultrasound assessment of the uterus that looks for fibroids, which are common non-cancerous growths of the muscular wall of the womb. The scan is painless and uses sound waves rather than radiation.

Many fibroids cause no symptoms at all, while others may relate to heavier periods or pelvic discomfort. The check helps identify their presence, number and size, so any findings can be discussed and monitored where appropriate.
