Bone Densitometry (DEXA)
Bone Densitometry, known as a DEXA scan, is a quick, low-dose imaging test that measures the mineral density of your bones, usually at the hip and spine. It is painless and takes only a few minutes.
The result helps assess bone strength and can detect osteoporosis or thinning bones before a fracture occurs. This is especially useful for women after the menopause and older adults, allowing steps to protect bone health to be discussed early.
