Breast Ultrasound

A Breast Ultrasound uses harmless sound waves to create images of the breast tissue, with no radiation involved. It is often used alongside or instead of mammography, particularly in younger women with denser breast tissue.

The scan can help detect lumps, cysts and other changes, and is useful for telling fluid-filled cysts apart from solid areas. It is a valuable screening and assessment tool, and any findings are reviewed carefully and followed up where needed.
