Laboratory Tests
CA 15-3
CA 15-3 is a protein measured in the blood that acts as a tumour marker, used mainly to help monitor breast conditions. The test looks at whether the level is above the expected range.
It is most valuable for following the progress of a known diagnosis over time rather than for screening healthy people, as levels can be affected by other factors. A CA 15-3 result is always interpreted alongside imaging and clinical assessment.
This explanation is for general information and is not medical advice. Your results are always interpreted by a doctor.
