Laboratory Tests
GGT
GGT, or gamma-glutamyl transferase, is an enzyme found mainly in the liver and bile ducts. This blood test measures its level and is often included in liver assessments within a comprehensive check-up.
A raised GGT may indicate a problem with the liver or bile ducts and can also rise with alcohol intake or certain medicines. It is frequently used alongside ALP to help work out whether a change is coming from the liver or the bones.
