Echocardiography
Echocardiography is an ultrasound scan of the heart that uses harmless sound waves to produce moving images of its chambers, valves and walls. It is painless, involves no radiation and is a key tool in assessing heart health.
The scan shows how well the heart is pumping and whether the valves are working properly, helping to assess the structure and function of the heart. Any findings are reviewed by a specialist and can guide whether further heart investigations are needed.
