Free T3
Free T3 measures the active, unbound form of triiodothyronine, one of the main hormones produced by the thyroid gland. This blood test focuses on the portion of the hormone available for the body to use.
Measuring Free T3 helps assess how the thyroid is functioning, particularly when an overactive thyroid is suspected. It is usually interpreted alongside TSH and Free T4 rather than alone, giving a more complete view of your thyroid health.
