HDL Cholesterol is often called the good cholesterol because it helps carry excess cholesterol away from the arteries and back to the liver. This blood test measures how much HDL you have.

Higher HDL levels are generally associated with a lower risk of heart disease, while low levels may indicate increased cardiovascular risk. HDL is interpreted as part of a full cholesterol profile, alongside LDL and triglycerides, to give a balanced view of your heart health.
