Laboratory Tests
Rubella IgG
Rubella IgG is a blood test that checks for antibodies against rubella, also known as German measles. The presence of these antibodies shows immunity, usually from past vaccination or infection.
Knowing your rubella status is particularly important for women planning a pregnancy, as rubella infection during pregnancy can affect the developing baby. A positive Rubella IgG result is reassuring, while a negative result allows vaccination to be discussed before conceiving.
