Laboratory Tests
VDRL/RPR (Syphilis)
The VDRL/RPR test is a screening blood test for syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection. It detects the body's response to the infection rather than the organism itself, making it a useful first-line check.
Because it is a screening test, a reactive result needs a confirmatory test before any conclusion is reached, as other factors can occasionally influence it. Detecting syphilis early through VDRL/RPR allows for effective treatment, and results are handled with full confidentiality.
